Day38(21/June/2019) 稚内―礼文―利尻
さあ今日は私の誕生日。還暦プラス１になり、とうとう切り上げで７０になってしまった。７０のおじいさんです。というわけで誕生日ライドスタートなんですが、今日は船旅です。620分発の礼文島行きフェリー。曇り。気温12度。フェリーは満車。お客さんのほとんどは私より年上のジジババ。礼文や利尻でやる事といったらトレッキング、登山、釣りなどのアウトドア。最近のジジババは本当に元気がいい。見習おう。
礼文島で何やるんだっけ？別に行きたいところもないから、北端のスコタン岬を往復しようかとも思ったが、昨日も岬に行ったしな～～と地図を見ると、近くに「北のカナリアパーク」というのと「桃岩展望台」というのがあった。そこにしよう。
北の島で「カナリア」を飼っている公園なのかなー？と何も知らずにパンフレットを読むと、2012年の吉永小百合主演、他豪華出演陣の映画「北のカナリアたち」の分校ロケセットの跡地。この映画の事全く知らなかった。そこからの利尻富士の眺めが素晴らしいとの事だった。フェリーの中では小雨だったが、雨も上がり陽も差してきた。ここが良かった。
学校の中に入ってみると、まさに私の小学校時代を思い出し、切なくなってきた。麗端小学校岬分校。スリッパまでその名前だった。細かい！
さあ次は、近くの桃岩展望台だ。地図ではすぐ近く、簡単に行けそうだ！ と思ったらやはり「展望台」というだけあって甘かった。自転車を30分程押して、やっと展望台入り口。そこから徒歩で１．５ｋｍくらい登る。しかし、ジジババ達も上の方からぞろぞろ降りてきている。大したもんだ。そこで目にしたものは、絶景でした。
礼文島というと、誰もがウニ、ウニ、ウニとつぶやくでしょうが、敢えて言おう。違います。花です。ウニの代わりに花のつぶてを食らってください。
時間があったので、海岸線を走ってみたが、暗く曇って来た。これが山にいる時でなくて良かった！別に行きたいところもないのでフェリーターミナルへ。このフェリーで利尻島にわたります。降りる時気づいたけど、車両、バイク、自転車を預けたのは私一人だった。礼文から利尻に移動するとしても、もう一便遅いフェリーにするんだろうな。
利尻島について、港を見下ろせる「ペシ岬」に登る。これも晴れててよかった。ここからの眺めも素晴らしかった。明日は雨の予報だから、今日登れて良かった。
ということで、今日は自転車の旅というより、「健全なトレッキング」に終始しました。切り上げ７０の誕生日もこうやって暮れていきました。とさ。

Today is my birthday and I became 61. 61 looks like the age of grandfather though my heart is still in 30s!
To go to the Island Rebun, I took the ferry boat at 620am. Temp:12C. It was cloudy. The boat was filled with senior people. Currently, senior people in Japan are very active.
In Rebun, I didn’t have a clear plan of what to do. Seeing the pamphlet, I decided where I should go. First, I went to the place(park) where the famous Japanese movie in 2012 was shot. The small and old type of elementary school which was used in the movie was remained. From that place, I could see the beautiful scenery of Mt. Rishiri-Fuji. Very fortunately, the weather as becoming better, and I could see the sunshine. After that, I moved to the observatory of “Momo Iwa(Peach shaped Rock)” where is very near from this park. However, it was not so easy to go there since it was “observatory (to see the view)”. I pushed the bicycle for 30min and climbed on the path for another 30min. It was worth to do so. The scenery was breathtaking.
Island Rebun is well known as the island of flower. I put several phots of flower which I took at the observatory place.
In the afternoon, I moved to Island Rishiri. The ferry boat was empty. There were no cars in this boat. In front of the port of Rishiri, there was “Cape Peshi” where I could see the view of 360 degree. I could see “Mt. Rishiri-Fuji” in front of me. Again, it was fine weather, and it was very lucky. Today I didn’t do the cycling but trekking. It was unforgettable experience in both islands.
