Day40(23/June/2019) 稚内-中川
天気予報では今日は曇り。昨日まで雨のマークがついていたが、今朝変わった。やることもないので800時に出発。気温13度。しかし、出発して5分で雨が降り出し、合羽に着替える。10分待って止んだので出発したが、空は暗いまま。頼む降らないでくれ！ 根性見せてくれ！
1時間半ほどこいで豊富町の辺りに来ると、右手に昨日行った“利尻富士”に似た山がスクット立っている。あれ何という山かな？と考えても答えが出ないのでグーグルマップで確認。「えー！利尻富士じゃない。こんなに大きくきれいに見えるの？こっちから見た方がきれいに見えるじゃない！」 利尻島と北海道本土の最短距離は２０Km程。きれいに見えるはずだ！
まだ空は暗いままで、ここで雨が降ってきたらどこにも雨宿りする場所がない。建物のある所まで急げ！急げ！ やっと豊富町の市街地のコンビニがあったので、そこに入りコーヒーで一服。少し明るくなってきたので出かけようとしたら、大きな荷物を担いだ外国人。フランス人で1か月ほどヒッチハイクしながら日本を回っているらしい。「簡単に車は停まってくれるの？」と聞くと、「15分で乗れる時もあれば、2時間待つこともある。平均45分くらい。今月末には北海道を出て、7月5日には東京にいたい。」らしい。お互いに安全を願って別れる。
彼と別れると晴れてきた。広い広い北海道の草原が輝き始めた。
草原（農場）の草が刈られ、白や黒のビニールに包まれて置かれている？ もう冬の準備なのかな？
中川町に入る手前で、天塩川がゆっくり流れている。
それを眺めながら天塩中川駅に到着。

The weather forecast said today would be cloudy. After I left at 800am(Temp:13C), it started to rain. I changed to rainwear. After 10min, rain stopped, and I started again.
After 90min ride, I found the high mountain on the right-hand side. “What is that mountain? It looks like Mt. Rishiri-Fuji where I went yesterday.” Since I couldn’t get the conclusion, I checked the google map. “Oh my God! Yes, it is Mt. Rishiri-Fuji. The scenery of this Mt. from here is better than yesterday’s one!” I muttered.
The sky was still dark. If the rain started again, there were no place to escape. Hurry up! Hurry up! Finally, I found the convenience store at the entrance of town, I had a coffee there. Before I restarted, I met a young foreign guy with a big rucksack. I started to talk, “Hi, are you waking around Hokkaido?” He said,” I am doing hitchhiking in Japan for around 1month.” I asked, “Wow, it is not difficult to get the car?” “Sometime 15min, sometime 2hours. Let’s say, the average is 45min. I like to reach Tokyo before 5/July.”
We both said, “Good luck!”
After we separated, the weather was becoming better. The meadows started to shine under blue sky.
After I crossed “Teshio River”, I arrived today’s destination, “Teshio Nakagawa.”
