Day77(30/July/2019) 宇佐―別府―臼杵(Usa-Beppu-Usuki)

７３０発。ぎらぎら太陽。気温27度。昨日と同じ気温なのに今日は暑い！
まず宇佐神宮へ。宇佐神宮は日本に四万以上ある八幡神社の総本山。また格式も伊勢神宮に次ぐという。古代の歴史に登場してくる有名なエピソードが二つ。8世紀半ば聖武天皇が東大寺の大仏を建立する際、莫大な費用がかかるため天皇も心配であったらしい。しかしその時、宇佐八幡大神から「協力する」の信託が出て無に大仏が出来上がったとか。またそれから20年後あたりに、女帝に取り入った僧の道鏡が「宇佐八幡から自分が皇位に着くと国が安泰になるというお告げがあった」と天皇にウソの報告。それを確かめるために和気清麻呂（わけのきよまろ）を宇佐神宮に派遣して、道鏡のウソを見破り、道鏡は失脚。息子よ、試験に出るから覚えておいて！

神宮の本宮と、ここでのお参りの仕方は「二礼、四拍手、一礼」だとか。ほほー勉強になります。
神宮の池には蓮の花が咲いていました。ここが神輿の発祥の地だという事です。31日はここで祭りがあります。暑そう！
別府に向かって峠越えをしていたら、写真ではよくわからないが突然お城みたいな大きな建物が。広大な駐車場もある。あまり車は駐車していない。ハーモニーランドという表示あり。峠の頂上が入り口だったが、入り口は見えず。かすかに見えたキティちゃんの姿。
東京の多摩センターのサンリオピューロランド系なのか？ 宿で調べるとその通り！ サンリオ運営だ！ https://www.harmonyland.jp/welcome.html キティちゃん大好きな人は、東京の多摩センターの後は、大分の日出町（ひじまち）へどうぞ。多分Day８のリカちゃんキャッスルより楽しめるぞ！
今日は４つぐらい峠を越えた。2つは峠の看板があった。何百メートルも登った気分だったが、それほど高くないんだな。
別府に着くと、別府タワーが見えた。別府は素通りです。別府から大分に向かう海岸沿いの歩行者・自転車道路は、私の少ない経験からすると「広さ、きれいさ」カテゴリーで日本一です。短かったけど。。。６－７ｋｍ？
最後の峠を越えてカーブを曲がっている時、突然車が止まっていて人が外に出て何か合図を出している。止まったら、冷えたカルピスと饅頭をくれた。ノリのいいオジサンでいろいろ話をした。このオジサンもバイクで色々な所を廻った事があり、自転車のサイクリストを見るたびに「よくやるな～～大変だろうな～～」といつも思っているとの事。ありがとうございました。

やっと見たかった「臼杵石仏」に到着。この辺り石仏群があるという事は知っていて、是非見たかった。国宝です。
今では立派な屋根もできて、雨による浸食を防いでいる。心が洗われる石仏群でした。
私の心もガンガン洗われて、Day５６の純真な良寛さんにまたまた近づいたような気がしてなりません。
今日は今回の旅で一番暑い一日でした。明日はもっと暑い？

730 departure. Temp:27C. There was strong sunlight. It must be very hot today. I visited “Usa Shrine”. The signboard and Torii Entrance were great! This “Usa Jingu” played very important roles in Nara era (8th century). There were 2 historical episodes. One was to prevent the fake imperial succession and the other was to support the emperor to build Daibutsu (big buddha statue) in Todaiji temple in Nara.
This shrine played very important roles at the time of creation period of Japan.
The main building of this shrine was beautiful, and the way of worship was different from normal shrines.
In the pond of shrine, there were lotus flowers. Moreover, the place of origin of portable shrines (Mikoshi) carried in festivals was here.
On the way, I found the kind of castle on the hill. After I reached there, I also found the character of Kitty-chan. After I checked, this was theme park of Kitty-chan organized by Sanrio.
I arrived Beppu city. Beppu is famous for hot spa. Since it is summer now, I have no interest for hot spa. I just took a photo of Beppu Tower. The cycling road between Beppu and Ohita was wide and clean though it was short (6-7km).
Today I crossed 4 passes. The height was not so much although it was not easy to climb this level. After I finished the last pass, a man was waiting for me with cold drink. He was very kind and gave me a drink and sweet. We talked a lot under the sunshine. It was fun!
Finally, I could visit “Usuki Stone Buddha” created in around 12Century-13C. I wanted to visit here for a long time. After I visited here, I became free from dirt and impurities in both mind and body.
Today was the hottest day during my journey!!
