Day90(19/August/2019) 佐世保―唐津(Sasebo-Karatsu)

昨日の天気予報では昼から雨だったが、今朝見ると9時から雨になっていた。あわてて6時半発。気温23度。久々の２５度割れだが蒸し暑い。当初は北側の山を越えて伊万里に出る予定だったが、ナビ様はそれを許さず、来た道を引き返して有田に出るルートを示す。戻りたくはないが、仕方ない。昨日来た道を１０ｋｍほど戻って山に入る。８時頃ちょうど有田が見渡せるところに来ると、正面の小高い山に巨大な建物が！ 何だ？何だ？ 坂道を登るのは嫌だし、雨の心配もあるがまあ見に行こう。
96年にここで「世界、炎の博覧会」が開かれ、255万人もの来場者があり、ここがテーマ館だったらしい。すばらしい建物だ。
会場は「歴史と文化の森公園」として再整備されている。きれいな公園だが、費用対効果はあったのかな？ 水飲み場も陶磁器、入り口のドアノブも陶磁器だ。
すぐ隣が伊万里市。江戸時代、伊万里川にかかるこの橋の辺りから、伊万里焼が長崎の出島経由で輸出されていたとの事。そのためヨーロッパではこのあたりの磁器を「Imari」と呼んでいた。橋の欄干も伊万里焼。
税金の無駄遣いだと思う例の道路わきの距離表示も伊万里焼です。
唐津に到着。殆ど予備知識はなかったが、まず旧唐津銀行に行って見る。東京駅丸の内駅舎や日本銀行本店の設計者である辰野金吾は唐津出身で、この旧唐津銀行も彼の設計。素晴らしい。
「唐津くんち」という祭りの存在は知っていたが、そこで使われる曳山（ひきやま）の展示場に行って見る。１４台の曳山を毎年使っている。最古のものは１８１９年作成。「ねぶた」のような派手さはないが、歴史と伝統では負けていない。
毎年、１１月２日の夜から４日まで行われます。日本人なら是非見に来てください。私はまだ見ていないけど。。
そして唐津城。天守閣の記録は残っていないらしいが（現在のものは１９６６年のコンクリート製）、そこからの眺めはすばらしい。
すぐ北に海が広がり、東西に砂浜が続く。そのため「舞鶴城」と呼ばれているとの事。すぐ北には、宝くじの当選に「霊験あらたか」と言われる宝当神社のある高島が浮かんでいます。私も強く拝みましたから、次回は大いに期待できます。
雨が降り出したので、どしゃぶりにならないうちに今日の宿へ。

According to yesterday’s weather forecast, the rain would start from the afternoon. However, today’s one said, “it would be from 900am.” I rushed to start from 630am. Tem:23C. it was very humid.
When I reached to Arita town, I found a huge building on the top of hill. I went up to see what it was. It was the building which was used for the theme pavilion for “World Ceramic Exposition in Saga 1996”. The public drinking fountain and the doorknob were also made by ceramic.
After Arita town, I passed Imari-city. Imari was very famous in Europe in the end of 17C. Almost all ceramics made in surrounding areas were shipped from Imari river port. That was why European people called Japanese ceramics as “Imari”. The decorations of bridge on Imari river were ceramics.
The road indiation was also made by ceramic.
Before the rain started, I arrived Karatsu City. First of all, I visited the former Karatsu Bank building. This building was designed by Mr.Kingo Tatsuno who also designed Tokyo Station and Bank of Japan HQ. he was born in this city.
After that, I went to the exhibition hall of festival floats for “Karatsu Kinchi Festival”. This festival has been held on Nov2-4 every year. The oldest float was made in 1819 and has been used for more than 200years!! I want to see the actual festival sometime in the future.
Finally, I visited Karatsu castle which located at the cliff. From there, I could see beautiful coasts. On the north, there was an island called “Takashima”. In this island, there is a famous shrine called “Houtou Shrine”. If you pray in this shrine, you can win the lottery at the very high probability!! Why don’t you try?
