Day 23(6/June/2019) 曇りー晴れー曇り 苫小牧―浦河荻伏

730出発。気温14度。ウィンドブレーカーを着ていても寒いくらいだ。1時間ほど走っていると、向こうから荷物を積んだサイクリストが来た。手をあげて挨拶すると、道を突っ切ってこちらに。こんなことをするのは外国人だな？？　と思ったら案の定、フランス人のオッチャン。日本に来て1か月半。昨夜、新潟からフェリーで着き、港のそばの駅で寝て（野宿）これから北へ向かうとの事。いろいろ話をしていたら、このオッチャンすごい。まず68歳。普通のホテルやゲストハウスは高いから、インターネットカフェか野宿。荷物もものすごく少ない。見せてくれたのが、今まで行った他の国の地図とルート。ヨーロッパの半分。タイ全土、メキシコ、コロンビア、中国2回、そしてインド。すべて自転車と輪行の組み合わせ。年間3か月はこれに費やすらしい。そんな話をしていたら、今度はドイツ人の若者カップル。京都に3か月前に来て、しばらくは京都にいたが自転車をレンタルして（3ケ月で3万円）、これもまたフェリーなどを利用して、色々な所を回っているらしい。これからフェリーで福井の敦賀に戻るらしい。4人で色々な話をしていたら1時間以上過ぎてしまった。

しばらくすると晴れてきた。大変気分の良い天気。ここ日高地方は何で有名か？　日高昆布も有名だけど、競走馬生産でも大変有名。日本の競走馬生産牧場の7割弱がここ日高地方にあるらしい。いたるところ牧場の看板。山肌に青い色が見えたのでブルーシートかなと思ったら、山肌の岩にペイントされた絵だった。うまいもんだ。

その新冠町（にいかっぷ）の中心に、街にそぐわない大きな建物が！　レ・コード館。なにこれ？　竹下内閣の「ふるさと創生事業」の1億円が事の発端。町の音楽愛好家が「将来消えてしまうだろうレコードを数限りなく集めることによって、レコード文化の継続をはかり、かつ町の活性化につなげよう。」という話が、あれよあれよという間にこうなったらしい。展望台まである。建物の庭には競走馬関係の展示もある。ハイセイコーの銅像が目を引く。http://niikappu.gr.jp/supot/recordkan.html

このレ・コード館を出発してから、雲行きがあやしくなった。空は暗くなり、風も強くなった。その横風で、自転車がなかなか進まない。ポツンと降ってきたような感じがしたので、また合羽を取り出した。今日はもつと思ったのにな～あ～～あ～～

1時間以上、道の上で話していたため、到着1710分。走行距離：１２２ｋｍ（私のサイクルコンピューターで）、通過トンネル０．結局雨は降らなかった。

I departed at 730am. Temp:14C. Though I had a windbreaker, I felt a bit cold. After I rode for almost 1 hour, I encountered a French cyclist on the road. According to his, he arrived to Tomakomai east-port last night, spent the night in the railway station and was moving to the north. He came to Japan 1.5 months ago and traveled by bicycle, ferry and train with bicycle. He is 68years!!! and traveled with bicycle in Europe, Mexico, Thailand, Columbia, China x 2 and India. I was amazed by his explanation. While we were talking a lot, a German couple was also coming. They also joined the talk. They came to Japan 3 months ago. Initially they based in Kyoto around 1 month and started the journey by rental bicycle. They planned to use the ferry from Tomakomai to Tsuruga (near to Kyoto) tonight. We spent more than 1 hour on the road.

After we separated, the weather was becoming better. It is fine and clear sky. I moved in Hidaka-area. In this area, the production of racehorse is very famous. 70% of ranches of horserace in Japan exist in Hidaka area. The welcome painting on the rock of hill was nice in the entrance of Niikappu town. After 10 minutes, the huge building (compared with the scale of town) welcomed me. It was a Re-Cord museum. The museum was built for the purpose to collect the records as much as possible to protect the heritage of record culture. Since the ranches of this ton produced a lot of legend horses, their stone plaques were displayed outside of this building.

After I left here, the sky was becoming darker and the strong wild started to blow. I changed to the rainwear today again. Finally it didn’t rain finally. Today’s mileage:122km, tunnel passed:0
