Day55(8/July/2019) 村上―新潟

今日は新潟までの短距離なので820出発。気温22度。1時間ほど走ったらメキシコ人の元気のいいアンチャン（Rafael?）に会う。鹿児島から出発して15日だという。毎日10時間ほどこいで5日後には札幌に着きたいと言う。先週の西日本の大雨の中も6時間走ったらしい。ちょっと元気あり過ぎるじゃないの？

またしばらく走っていると、突然巨大な像が！！　熊（Day22）やカニの爪（Day34）と同じくらいのインパクトがあった。越後の里：親鸞聖人らしい。が、施設はもうつぶれてしまったようだ。開いている時に行きたかった！　親鸞聖人の力も及ばなかったようだ！

で、新潟駅には1300頃着き、荷物を宿に預けて新潟の街へ。

今日は残念ながら月曜日だったため、美術館、博物館の類はすべて閉館、残念。信濃川河口にある日航ホテルの31階が無料展望所になっているということで行って見る。

新潟は大きな街だ。晴れていて佐渡ヶ島まではっきり見えた。眼下に見えたのは信濃川。これで無料とはすばらしい。

夜は駅のそばにある「ぽんしゅ館」へ。新潟の全酒造蔵の酒をすべて試飲できるという施設。

500円で小さいおちょこと5枚のトークンが渡され、それで5種類の酒が味わえるという趣向。殆ど飲んだことのない酒ばかりで、どれもうまかった。

試飲室の外で酒やおつまみなどを販売している。おちょこ5杯では足りなかったので、一升瓶を買うわけにもいかず、知らない銘柄のカップ酒を三つ買って帰って飲んだ。新潟も米どころ酒どころだ！

Since today’s destination (Niigata) was not far, I left at 820am. Temp:22C. After one hour, I met a very energetic Mexican guy. According to him (Rafael), he started this bicycle journey from Kagoshima 13days ago. And he tried to arrive Sapporo in Hokkaido in 5days. It is a very aggressive plan. He didn’t make any sightseeing but run/run/run. Last week, there were heavy rains almost every day in western Japan. But he didn’t care and just moved!! It is too energetic!

After we said “good-bye”, I encountered another surprising statue of Saint Shinran (around 850years ago). This impact was same as “Bear(Day22)" or “Crab Claw(Day34)”. Regrettably, this facility had been bankrupted.

I arrived Niigata at 1300pm. After I left my baggage, I went around the city. I found the observation place at 31^st floor of Nikko hotel where located beside Shinano River. It was good that the admission was free. The scenery from this place was magnificent. I could see Sadogashima Island (the biggest island in Japan).

In the night, I visited “Ponshu Kan (Sake Pavilion)” at Niigata Station. This was the place where we could taste all sake by 93 producers in Niigata prefecture. By 500yes, I received a small sake cup and 5 tokens.On the wall, there were 93 kinds of vending machines. By a token, the portion of sake cup was poured. All were very tasty. Since 5 portions were not enough for me, I bought another 3 normal cups of Sake in the shop and enjoyed them in my room.
