Day74(27/July/2019) 萩―長門(Hagi-Nagato)

萩の街をほとんど見ていないので、今日は萩の街散策から。荷物を宿に預けて９００出発。気温30度！！嘘だろ？？ 確かに日射しはきつい。まず萩博物館から。博物館は萩城、吉田松陰、高杉晋作についての展示でした。外観は街に合わせて立派。

ひとつだけ知らなかったのが、萩は「夏みかん」の産地だということ。博物館でも展示があった。

萩の街は、江戸時代から続く街並みを可能な限り保存しようとしている。特に昔の塀の保存がすばらしい。

ただ道幅が狭かったり、鍵曲がりになっていたり、住んでいる人は暮らしにくいだろうな。春や秋に散策するのは気分いいだろうな。

萩城址を眺めた後、

吉田松陰が松下村塾を作る前に教えていたという藩校明倫館を見に行く。明倫館は明治になり明倫小学校となり、昭和10年の校舎で5年前まで実際に子供たちが勉強していた。それから3年かけてリノベーションして、現在は資料館、観光案内所、レストランなどが入っていた。大変きれいにリノベされていた。

１２００に荷物を積んで長門へ出発。今回も、自転車ナビ君はすごい道に連れて行ってくれた。しかし、道の表示を見ると県道６４だ。これで県道か！！

しかし、時々見れる海沿いの景色は絶景。山の方は木々生い茂って、強い日射しを防いでくれた。多分、この道が正解だったんだろうな。。

長門に着き、行って見たかった青島へ。40年ほど前、帰省する時に山陰線の鈍行を使った事があり、長門で降りて青島に行き、それがものすごく青い海だったような記憶があった。しかし青島だと思っていたら、道路標識には青海島（おうみじま）とあった。あらま！　青海島だった！　島の入り口にある公園の高台から長門方面を見ると絶景だった。丁度曇っていて絶景度が半減してしまっているが。。。

In the morning I decided to spend the time to see the city of Hagi. I left the baggage at the inn and began at 900am. Temp:30C. Wow! It was hot!  Firstly, I went to Hagi Museum. Although the exhibitions were not many, the façade of the museum was matched to the city atmosphere. This city is trying to maintain the atmosphere of Edo era (houses, walls and roads). It is successful. It might be fun to walk around the city on the day which was not so hot. However, I thought it was not so easy to live for local people.

After I passed the site of Hagi castle, I moved to the site of old public school, Meirin-kan. Meirin-kan was transformed to Meirin elementary school in Meiji era. And pupils were using the school building until 2014, which was made in 1935. After 3 years renovation, it became the museum, tourist information center and restaurant so on. It was nice.

At noon, I restarted the journey to Nagato. My bicycle-navi took me to very aggressive road this time too. It was narrow along the coast and in the deep mountain. I sometimes wondered whether I could reach the destination or not. But I could sometimes see the beautiful views.

Finally, I arrived Nagato city. I forwarded to Oumi island and climbed the park at the entrance of this island. The view of Nagato city from there could be much better if it was not cloudy. Finally, I arrived Nagato-city station. Today’s mileage:52km, tunnel passed:0
