Day96(25/August/2019) 広島-呉―呉豊島(Hiroshima-Kure-Kure Toyoshima)

755発。曇り。気温24度。広島港から呉港までフェリーがある事を知り、昨日まではそれに乗る予定だった。今朝になり涼しかったので自転車で行くことにした。若い時の苦労は買ってでもしろ！だ。だけど今にも雨が降りそうな天気。なんとか天気も持ってくれて、呉市に入るとすぐこの看板を見つけた。
日本遺産なんてあるんだ。旧軍港四市か！ 私は横須賀（5月15日）、舞鶴（7月16日）、佐世保（8月18日）、そして呉（8月25日）とすべて制覇しました。これはギネス級の出来事じゃないだろうか？ この四市から表彰さえれてもいいんじゃないかな！
さて呉に来たのは大和ミュージアム（呉市海事歴史科学館）を観るためでした。夏休み最後の日曜日とあって大勢の家族連れ。まず外観から。
入るとすぐ戦艦大和の1/10のサイズの模型が展示したある。角度を変えてどうぞお楽しみください。
このお盆、息子のリクエストで菅田将暉主演の「アルキメデスの大戦」を観た。この大和に関する映画だった。全然期待していなかったが大変面白かった。映画の中で大和を観た後に、ここに来れたのはラッキーだった。ただ舘ひろしが山本五十六役で登場すると、「ハズキルーペ、だーーい好き」を思い出してしまい苦笑。舘ひろしにとってあのCMはマイナスでしかないと思うのだが。。。
展示は大和だけではなく、呉の歴史、太平洋戦争の変遷、零戦などの他の戦争関連の展示などがあり、しっかり勉強しようと思うと時間がかかる。このゼロ戦は1945年の終戦直前にエンジン不良で琵琶湖に不時着した本物で、1978年に引き揚げられた。
ご存知のように、戦艦大和自体は戦争で殆ど活躍できなかったが、戦前の技術の粋を投入して建造されたおかげで戦後の日本の経済発展（製鋼技術、発電と配電技術、精密工学技術、生産管理技術など）に多大な貢献をしたとの事だった。それは知らなかった。大和の技術が戦後日本の奇跡の発展を生んだんだ！ なるほど！！
大和ミュージアム前には、ひときわ目立つ建物がある。海上自衛隊呉資料館（てつのくじら館）である。ここを素通りすることはできない。
しかも入場無料。展示内容は、海上自衛隊の歴史、掃海艇の活躍（91年に日本の掃海艇がペルシャ湾に来た時、私は丁度ドバイに住んでおり、日本ガンバレとつぶやいていました）、そして潜水艦の説明と潜水艦あきしおの内部体験。
入り口にあった潜水艦は本物のあきしおで1986年から2004年まで使われ、長さ７６ｍ、重さ2200ｔでした。2006年に日本最大級のクレーン船で釣り上げられ展示されたとの事。潜望鏡ものぞける。しかしこの施設を無料にしてはいけない。人はお金を出して初めて真剣に観る。無料だと素通りしてしまう。有料で良いよ、海上自衛隊さん！
呉の街で洗濯をしてさあ出発。友人から、尾道―今治を結ぶ「しまなみ海道」の他に、呉から小さい島々をつなぐ「とびしま海道」なるものがあると聞いた。「とびしま海道」なんて初めて聞く。橋でつながった島々をどんどん渡って先に行けるらしい。橋が途絶えたらフェリーがどこかに連れて行ってくれるはず。これは面白そうだ。「とびしま海道」をGO！
最初の橋が立派な事。有料道路だ。自転車、歩行者はは無料。安芸灘大橋（あきなだ）だ。すばらしい。
二番目が蒲刈大橋（かまがり）、
三番目が豊島大橋。まだ先に行くつもりだったが、先の島の宿が取れなかった。
今日は豊島泊。一日雨は降らなかったが青空は殆どのぞかず、海も灰色でちょっと損をした気分。明日は晴れて、青い瀬戸内海を見せてくれ！ 「とびしま海道」は大正解だった。

755departure. Temp:24C. It was cool today. I was thinking yesterday I liked to use the ferry boat from Hiroshima to Kure. However, since it was cool, I decided to go on the road. When I reached Kure city, I found the sign board. It said, “Japan Heritage, The former 4 naval ports. Yokosuka, Maizuru, Sasebo and Kure”. Surprisingly, I visited all the cities during this journey.
In Kure, I wanted to visit “Battleship Yamato Museum”. The battleship Yamato is the most famous one during WW2 in Japan. Since today was the last Sunday in school summer holidays, there were a lot of families. There was a 1/10 mockup of Yamato.
Two weeks ago, I watched the movie related to this battleship with my son. That was why today’s visit was more interesting. In the museum, not only the mockup of ship but also the history of Kure, the transition of the battles in Pacific Ocean and materials related to WW2 including Zero fighter place were exhibited. This Zero fighter plane was the genuine one.
The battleship Yamato couldn’t work well during the war. However, since this ship was made by latest technologies at that time, those technologies contributed to the industry development of Japan after the war.
In front of “Yamato Museum”, there was the eye-catching building with the huge submarine. This was the “Maritime Self-Defense Force Museum”. This museum showed the history of self-defense force, the activities of mine sweepers (Japan mine sweeper team worked in Persian Gulf during Gulf War in 1991 when I lived in Dubai), the structure of submarine and the actual submarine of Akishio. This Akishio was actually used from 1986 to 2004. The length:76m, The weight:2200t. In 2006 this was hung by the biggest crane ship and displayed here. I could touch the periscope. The admission of this museum was free. I thought they should charge, otherwise people didn’t watch carefully.
After Kure-city, I passed several small islands connected by beautiful bridges, which was called “Tobishima Kaido”. Although I didn’t know this route, my friend told me this route was nice. If it was fine day, the sea could much more beautiful.
