Day101(30/August/2019) 宇和島-四万十市(Uwajima-Shimanto City)

天気予報では降水確率９０％だったが、雨が止んでいたので740出発。気温27度。街を全く見ていなかったので5分程ふらふらしていたら、空が急に真っ黒になり、いかにも大雨が来そうな感じ。即、宿に引き返した。良かったのか悪かったのか、すぐに大雨。ここで1時間待機。８４５再出発。2時間ほど山道を登る。11時頃になると空が明るくなってきた。峠を越え、下りは「日本最後の清流」と言われいる四万十川の川岸をひたすら下って行く。四国一の長さを誇り、途中にダムがないので水がきれい。
曇りだったので今一つ「清流」感はありませんが、今日は四万十川特集にします。堪能してください。
ここを下っていると、Day10(5月24日)の阿武隈川を下っているじゃないかと錯覚してしまった。デジャブ―です。
ここで旅行者にとってやっかいな問題が。この地域には隣接して、四万十市（下流）と四万十町（上流）がある。下の標識をみて混乱しない人はいないだろう。
四万十市ができたのは2005年4月。四万十町ができたのは2006年3月と町の誕生が遅い。しかし、合併協議会で四万十町という名前を決めたのは2004年8月10日。四万十市と決まったのは2004年8月16日と6日遅いらしい。混乱するので旧名の中村（四万十市）、窪川（四万十町）と呼ばれることも多いとか。さらに、四万十市の中に古くから四万十町（しまんとちょう）が存在しているからさらにややこしくなる。四万十川の流れは折れ曲がっている。
ということで、四万十市の中村駅に到着。11時から雨も上がり良かった。

Today’s rain probability was 90%. However, as it was not raining at 740am, I departed. Temp:27C. After 5mins, I realized that my decision was wrong. It became very dark and I returned to the inn immediately. The heavy rain started, and I was waiting for an hour to stop the rain.
I restarted and went up the slope for 2 hours. The rain almost stopped. After the pass, I just went down along the famous river, Shimanto. Under the sunshine, the color of water is blue. Unfortunately, it was cloudy today and the color was also dark. You can see a lot of Shimanto river here. Today's blog is the special edition of Shimanto River!
In this area, there are Shimanto-city and Shimanto-town as individual municipalities. It is complicated especially for the tourists. When several towns merged in early 2000, they decided to use the famous river name for the new city/town. I arrived Nakamura station which was the former name of Shimanto-city.
