Day85(7/August/2019) 伊佐―八代(Isa-Yatsushiro)

まだ道は濡れているが晴れ。745発。26度。今日は朝から峠越え。峠越えは朝に限る。やらなければいけない「メンドウな事」「キツイ事」はまず最初に済ませるべきで、後回しにしてはいけない。息子よ、分かっているかい？　1時間半ひたすら登り。鹿児島と熊本の県境の久七（きゅうしち）トンネルに到着。３９４５ｍ。

この長さはDay24の黄金トンネル（４９４１ｍ）に次ぐもので、Day67の蘇武トンネル（３６９２ｍ）抜いて2位。通過するのに20分40秒かかったが、後ろから来た車は16台と少なかったので良かった。トンネルの途中が県境。やっと故郷の熊本までたどり着いた。「帰～～～ってきたぜ♪、熊本～～♪」

そこからはアップダウンはあるものの、球磨川（くまがわ）の流れに沿って八代まで。川の流れと同じ方向に進むのは大変気分の良いものです。人吉に着いた頃の球磨川は曇りの天気で灰色をしていた。

時間とともに晴れて来て、青くなってきた。

球磨川下りの船の写真は撮れなかったが、ラフティングが盛んで沢山の若者たちが楽しんでいた。

球磨川でのラフティング / Rafting in Kumagawa River

途中の球磨川沿いに大きな鍾乳洞、球泉洞（きゅうせんどう）がある。ここは「日本鍾乳洞　九選」になっているらしい。Day8の「あぶくま洞」もその一つだ。入り口に近づくと大変涼しくて気持ちよい。鍾乳洞の中は14度。何回も入った事があるので、今回、中には入らなかった。

八代に到着。ここは私が中学生のころ3年弱すごした所だ。母校の八代第三中学校を訪ねる。中学校は1983年に別の場所に移転し、ここは麦島小学校になっている。校舎も全く違う。しかし私にとってはここが母校だ。校門の前で写真を一枚。

It was fine though the road was still wet. 745 departure. Temp:26C. In the morning I should cross the pass. I climbed the road for 1.5 hours and I reached the “Kyu-Shichi Tunnel” at the border between Kagoshima and Kumamoto prefecture. Its length was 3945m. This was the 2^nd longest tunnel during this journey after “Golden Tunnel(4941m)” on Day24. This exceeded “Sobu Tunnel(3682m)” on Day67. It took 20m40s to pass this tunnel. Fortunately, only 16cars passed in the tunnel. In the tunnel, there was a sign board of border. It showed “Kumamoto Prefecture”, my home prefecture!  From here to today’s destination, Yatsushiro city, I would go along Kumagawa river. When I arrived Kumagawa river, the river was dark under grey sky. As time passed, the sky became blue and the river became green. Many young people were enjoying the rafting. On the way, there was a big cave, namely “Kyu-Sen-Dou”.　The air from the entrance was cool. The temp inside was 14C. As I had entered several times, I didn’t enter this time. This cave is selected as one of 9 beautiful caves in Japan. “Abukuma cave” on Day 8 was also one of them.

I arrived Yatsushiro city, where I spent around 3 years during my junior high school time. I visited my    graduated school though it had become elementary school in 1983. However, my old school was in this place. I took a photo in front of this school’s entrance.
