Day78(31/July/2019) 臼杵―延岡(Usuki-Nobeoka)

今日も暑くなりそうだったので早めの出発６３０発。晴れ。気温２４度。早いだけあって昨日よりかなり涼しい。延岡まで山々が立ちふさがっている。自転車ナビ君は「山の中一直線にマイナーな道に突っ込め！」と言っている。素直に従う私がいた。

すぐに登りが始まる。朝が早いのと、山と木のおかげで日光がさえぎられて暑いけどまだいい。最初の峠のトンネルまではかなり自転車を押した。こんな時思うのは、「このナビ正しいの？」というもの。歩道がついているという事は新しいトンネルか？

二つ目のトンネルは何とかこげた。「トンネルを越えると、そこにご褒美が待っている。（川端康成風）」　峠のトンネルの後には下りが来るんですよ、下りが。

そんな時思うのは「ナビ君、疑ってゴメンネ」というもの。

早く出発したので、昼過ぎには延岡に着いた。熱中症にならないためにも、早朝出発、昼過ぎ到着がいいけど、べちょべちょの服のままCheck-Inを待たなければならない。

さて釜石といえば新日鉄。それでは延岡といえば何でしょう？　そう旭化成です。立派な煙突がドーーンと立っていた。

延岡駅は現代風だった。結局、宗兄弟は見つけられなかった。

To avoid the heat timing, I left at 630am. Temp:24. It was cooler than yesterday. Bicycle navigation instructed me to go straight into the mountains. Yes, sir!

Thanks to the mountains and trees, there were shadows on the roads. To reach the first pass, I pushed the bicycle for 30mins. I wondered whether this road was correct or not. For 2^nd tunnel, I could ride up to the end. After the tunnel at the pass, there is a reward. It is a downhill.

I arrived Nobeoka city earlier than I expected. In Nobeoka, there is a big chemical company, Asahi Kasei Corporation. There was a big chimney in the factory.

Nobeoka Station was modern and stylish.
