Day76(29/July/2019) 下関―北九州―宇佐(ShimonoSeki-KitaKyuushu-Usa)

735発。曇り。気温27度。いよいよ今日から九州だ。関門橋の真下あたりまで戻り、関門人道トンネルへ。６００－２２００が通過可能。人は無料だが自転車は20円。なぜ20円なのか？　10円でも50円でも100円でもなく20円。なんか深ーーい意味があるようなないような。。

降りるエレベーターは私だけだった。地上から６０Mほど降りて人道トンネルへ。ここでジョッギングしている人もいる。眺めのいい下関、門司の両方を走るんだろうな。県境で一枚。トンネルの長さは７８０ｍ、一番深い所で海面下５８ｍだとか。

門司側を出た所で一枚。本州よ、しばしの別れだ！

門司側の再開発された地区「門司港レトロ」というらしい。下関では「フグ」「フグ」「フグ」で大賑わいだったが、こちらは「焼きカレー」「焼きカレー」だ！古い建物もいくつか残っている。門司港駅も大変立派だった。

宿で調べてみると、門司港駅は今年の3月に創建時（大正時代）の姿の復元が完成した。中も大変すばらしい。日本の駅で国の重要文化財になっているのは、東京駅と門司港駅のみらしい。あらま～～！！それだったらちゃんと中も見ておくべきだった！　

９００になるのを待って門司港郵便局へ。健康保険証が7月末で切れるので、家内に新しい保険証をこの郵便局留めで送ってもらい、それを今日Pick-Up.。

太陽ギラギラの一日かと思ったが、太陽がきつかったのは10時ころまで、その後は曇り気味だった。今回も自転車ナビ君が、ガンガン曲がれ曲がれの指示を出すので、どこをどう通って来たのかルートナビを作るのが一苦労だった。最後５ｋｍの所で、かなり強い夕立に会い木陰に退避。木陰ではかなり濡れたが、別の場所に移動できないほどの強い雨だった。そこで30分我慢。そして宇佐に到着。ベタですが、どうぞ。https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr--GVIoluU

835 departure. Temp:27C. It was cloudy. I went back to the place right under “Kanmon Bridge” and moved to the pedestrian tunnel under the channel. No change for people and 20yen for bicycle. Why 20yen? Many local people do the cycling on both sides?  I was alone in the elevator and reached to the place under 60m from the ground. The length of this tunnel is 780m and the deepest place is under 58m from the sea level. There was a border sign between Fukuoka and Yamaguchi prefectures. I took the photo when I came up to the exit of Kyushu-side. Good-bye, Honshu, for the time being.

There was a new development area on Kyushu-side (Moji-side), namely “Nostalgic Moji Port”. There were many old buildings. “Moji Port Station” was also restored to the original state around 100 years ago. In the category of railway station, only Moji-port and Tokyo stations are designated as important cultural properties by the government. If I knew this before, I also entered the station!

I expected that today’s sunlight would be very strong. But it was till 100oam. After that, it became cloudy. And at the point of 5km to the destination, the heavy rain started. I escaped under the tree but it was not so successful. I waited there for 30min. Finally, I arrived today’s destination, Usa city. Youtube shows last year’s big hit song in Japan, namely “U.S.A.”  Usa=U.S.A.
